Our story

Three generations. One legacy of food.

It began with Natwarlal Thakkar’s small khaman and dhokla shop. His son, Yogesh Natwarlal Thakkar, learned the craft beside him, started out with a food truck named Shivam, and in 1998 founded Shivam Caterers.

Today the third generation carries it forward. Vansh Thakkar, a culinary arts graduate of WGSHA, Manipal, brings modern technique to the family kitchen, while the values stay the same: thoughtful planning, exceptional food and service that makes every guest feel valued.

How should we reply?

Questions

Good to know.

Still unsure about something? Call us — it’s usually quicker.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as your date is fixed. Wedding-season dates are the first to go, so it’s worth a quick call to check availability — even before your venue is final.

How is catering priced?

Every quotation is prepared for your event. It depends on the date, venue, guest count, menu and service requirements. Share the basics and we’ll send one across.

Is your food pure vegetarian? Do you make Jain food?

Yes. Everything we cook is pure vegetarian, and we prepare Jain and Swaminarayan (no onion, no garlic) menus on request. Just mention it when you enquire.

Can we taste the menu before we book?

Yes, menu tastings are available by arrangement. Ask us when you enquire and we’ll plan one around your shortlisted dishes.

Can we customise the menu?

Always. The dishes on this site are starting points. Tell us what your family loves — a grandmother’s favourite, a regional speciality, a dietary need — and we’ll build the menu around it.

What kinds of venues do you cater at?

Homes, banquet halls, party plots, farmhouses and open-air venues across Surat. We also cater outstation events; ask us about your location and we’ll explain travel and logistics.

What’s the quickest way to reach you?

Call or WhatsApp +91 99094 32331 between 10 AM and 8 PM, email shivamcatererssurat@gmail.com, or send an enquiry through the planner at any time.
